Sunday night cesspool backup, water rising in the basement. Called Long Island Cesspool at 9 p.m. Truck was in the driveway by 10:45. Tom himself rolled out, pumped the tank, scoped the inlet, fixed a partial root issue. Did not gouge me on the after-hours rate either. These guys saved my night.
Got three quotes for replacing a collapsed 1962 brick cesspool. Long Island Cesspool was not the cheapest but they were the only ones who showed up on time, gave us a written line-item quote, and walked us through the SCDHS permit process. Crew finished the precast install in three days, yard graded smooth. Could not have gone better.
Marie handled the entire SCSIP grant paperwork. We were intimidated by the I/A system requirement but she made it painless. Joe ran the install, kept us posted with daily photos, and we ended up paying about $5,800 out of pocket on a $34k Hydro-Action system. Cannot recommend them enough.
Needed a pre-sale septic inspection on a tight closing deadline. Tom got us scheduled within 48 hours, did the sludge probe, baffle check, and dye test, and had the written report to my attorney the next morning. Bank accepted it without follow-up. Saved my closing.
South-shore wellhead zone, so SCDHS required an I/A system. Tom and Marie applied for the SCSIP grant, the county approved $28,400, and Joe installed the Norweco Singulair in five days. The annual maintenance contract is reasonable too. Real pros.
Recurring backups every spring for two years. Two other contractors told me I needed a full replacement. Tom diagnosed it as a failed leach field, added a third pool and rebuilt the distribution box for under $7k. Problem fixed, no more standing water. Honest people.
Routine pump-out, but they noticed our access cover was buried 18 inches deep. Joe installed a riser to grade so future pump-outs are 30 minutes instead of two hours of digging. Smart move I never thought of. Will absolutely use them again.
Third septic contractor I called. First two never called back. Marie answered the phone, dispatched a truck within 90 minutes for the emergency pump, and Tom came out the next morning to scope a full replacement. Quote was honest, install was clean, SCSIP grant came through. 10/10.
I was nervous about getting ripped off because cesspool work has that reputation. Long Island Cesspool was completely upfront. Quoted me $425, charged me $425, photographed the lid before and after, and emailed me a proper invoice. No surprise fees. My new go-to.
