Every range above assumes a textbook job. Here are the most common things that move the price up or down — every adjustment we apply is industry-standard, not made-up.

High water table (south shore, near canals)

add $400 – $1,800

Dewatering and shoring during install. Common in Bay Shore, Massapequa, Patchogue, Babylon canals.

Tight access / hand-dig (no truck access)

add 15 – 30%

Long driveways, fenced yards, landscaped beds. Adds labor hours.

Old steel tank or asbestos transite found

add $600 – $2,400

Proper removal and DEC manifest. Most common on pre-1975 homes.

SCSIP grant for I/A system (Suffolk only)

The Suffolk County Septic Improvement Program covers up to $30,000 of a nitrogen-reducing I/A OWTS install. Most south-shore homeowners qualify. We do the paperwork, you sign two forms.
